Sparklers Private Nurseries and Gretna OSK’s club have a lot to offer both you and your children. We have a wide variety of services which are second to none. This website gives you information about our Nurseries, Out of School Club in Gretna and other activities which are on offer to you. We have an ‘open door’ policy at all our Nurseries and parents / carers are welcome at any time, so please come in and see us for an informal chat and a look around to find out more.
Research has shown that children learn more in the first few years of their lives than at any other time. Play is central to developing children’s learning. At Sparklers we provide a variety of play activities in a well prepared learning environment that meets the needs of the individual child, and allows them to learn at their own pace with value being placed upon the process of learning, not the end product.
Child's Play
Oh what a busy day,
I've been playing with dough
I've sang head, shoulders knees and toes.
I helped my friend 'nurse Sarah' to perform an operation
Then I fixed a track for my train and built the station
I popped into the 'home corner' to make a cup of tea
And stood beside the cooker making lunch for 23
I completed a whole jigsaw and played a new game
I had a turn on all the bikes, the slide and the climbing frame
I made a castle in the sand, even without a little hand!
I marched around the room, with all the girls and boys, and even helped to tidy all the toys.
I handed round the biscuits at milk and biscuits time
Then I listened to a story and sang more nursery rhymes
But now my day is over and all the mummies are all waiting
I hope my mummy doesn't say 'I WISH YOU'D DONE A PAINTING'
